Harris Teeter

Harris Teeter intentionally opens stores in areas of the country that have limited food access, AKA “food deserts.” In addition, their website provides healthy lifestyle tips, meal plans, and a doctor’s blog to answer health questions submitted by customers.

 Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee houses a Registered Dietician in nearly every one of its stores; they provide extensive nutrition services, health screenings, weight-loss programs, community presentations, and cooking classes. The company even created special healthy checkout lanes, where trail mix and fruit replace the usual spots for candy – so, if you can’t avoid an impulse buy, at least you’ll be snacking on something that’s good for you.
