The lowdown: You may have noticed something surprising on March 8 (AKA International Women’s Day): women were Photoshopped out of magazine covers and advertisements to draw attention to Not There, a campaign by the Clinton Foundation’s No Ceilings initiative. The idea: even though women have made remarkable strides toward equality, we have a loooooong way to go. (We’re Not There Yet, in other words.) Check out the video below, featuring Padma Lakshmi, Amy Poehler, and Jenny Slate, for a quick primer.

The backstory: The No Ceilings initiative calls out the problems that women arond the world still face today: child marriage, no access to paid maternity leave, sexual and physical abuse, unequal amounts of unpaid work, lack of access to education, etc. At a time where it feels good to be making some progress, we still need to fight for the world we want to create: a world in which gender is not a limit to what’s possible.
