Baseball Phenom Mo’ne Davis Helps Other Girls With a New Shoe
The lowdown: Remember our teen hero Mo’ne Davis, the first girl to throw a shutout in the Little League, and subsequently the first Little Leaguer to land a Sports Illustrated cover? Well, she’s back – and she’s designed a shoe in partnership with M4D3 (Make a Difference Everyday) and Because I am a Girl. 15% of the profits from shoe sales will go to impoverished girls around the globe.
What she said: Mo’ne’s thoughts on her new effort: “I never thought at the age of 13 I’d be a role model, but having young girls look up to me is pretty cool. If I can inspire them to reach their goals, that would be even cooler. Designing shoes with M4D3 is exciting and I wanted them to support Because I am a Girl to help girls and give them a chance at a better future.” We love her.
